“Broad security measures” have been taken in the city of Amed before the solidarity march planned for Kobanê today. Extra police have been brought in from surrounding provinces, while troops in armoured vehicles have been deployed at important points around the city.
Extensive “security measures” are being taken in Amed prior to the march to support Kobanê planned to go from Koşuyolu to Dağkapı square. Shopkeepers have kept their shutters down in the Bağlar and Sur districts, although there was no call made for this to be done.
Police have been deployed around the Governor’s Office, AKP offices and official buildings, while soldiers in armoured vehicles from the 7th Army Corps have been stationed at key points in the city.
