The Turkish Foreign Ministry has refuted KDP media’s claims of “Turkey isn’t against the referendum” and said, “There is no change in our stance.”
The Turkish Foreign Ministry refuted claims published in media affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) regarding the referendum in Southern Kurdistan.
The Turkish state stressed that since the first day they have been against the referendum and independence in general while the KDP media claimed in an article served yesterday with no source that “the Turkish state will accept independence”.
The article in question claimed Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said, “If certain conditions are met, Turkey will accept Southern Kurdistan’s independence.”
Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hüseyin Müftüoğlu made a statement on the issue and said the news is “completely baseless and untrue”, adding that they “have voiced [their] opposition to the independence referendum held by the IKRG in every platform and at every level,” and that “there is no change in [their] stance.”
After the statement, the KDP media removed the article from their websites. The story was attributed to KDP officials and claimed that “Turkey will accept the independence if Southern Kurdistan doesn’t pose any threat to Turkey.”
OIL MONEY CUT OFF?

Spokesperson for the Southern Kurdistan government Sefîn Dizeyî made an announcement after the matter was in the media and said: “The transfer of money hasn’t stopped due to political reasons but due to a technical issue between the banks that carried out the transfer.”
