The gendarmerie have attacked people maintaining the resistance vigil at the border with Kobanê in the village of Henîrk and arrested 4 activists. 2 of them, Nevzat Uzunyay and Azapşer, whose last name couldn’t be clarified, were released after a while. It is also reported that the other two detainees, Ahmet Dülsün and Fevzi Çiçek, were sent to the Mürşitpınar military border post.

Nevzat Uzunyay, an activist reported to have been tortured by Turkish soldiers after being taken into custody at the resistance vigil in the village of Henîrk on the border, told that the gendarme had come to the village and collected the identity cards of all the people. He said that the ID cards of 4 people were not given and that those 4 people were soon later taken into custody.

Each person was put in a different armoured vehicle, Uzunyay said, adding: “All the doors of the vehicle which I was put in were closed. I was beaten by them with sticks and ropes. They tried to smother me with the headscarf which was on my head. They said: ‘throw him over the border and ISIS will come and kill him.’ Then I fainted. When I came to I was in a field. Then I walked back to join my friends.”
