Turkish threats against Rojava land in Swedish parliament

The Swedish Left Party brought the threats issued by Turkey to invade Rojava to Parliament.

The Swedish Left Party has brought to the parliament's agenda the increasing threats issued by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan against Rojava.

Left Party MP and Foreign Policy Spokesman, Håkan Svennelig, underlined in a written motion that Turkey has been threatening Kurds living next to it as well as Kurds living in North Kurdistan.

Svennelig added that by implementing a security corridor, Turkey acttually could help ISIS members to leave Syria. The same ISIS members, Svennelig added, that were defeated by Kurds.

"Kurds in northern Syria and Rojava - said the MP - are now under threat as Turkey continues to talk about invasion. Their plans, however, can be stopped by internationalist action."

The Swedish MP finally asked his government which initiatives it intends to take to ensure Rojava is not invaded and Kurds in Northern and Eastern Syria are protected.
