Two archbishops kidnapped in Syria

The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Aleppo, Pavlos Yazigi, and the Syriac Orthodox  Bishop, Yohanna Ibrahim, were kidnapped in Syria on Monday.

According to the statement by the Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan, the two archbishops were kidnapped by armed groups while crossing from Turkey to Aleppo. The statement by Razek Siriani said that an armed group stopped the car carrying Yazigi and Ibrahim and killed the driver before kidnapping the bishops.

Siriani stated that search for the two archbischops, who -he said- were on humanitarian assistance duty for the release of two priests kidnapped earlier, is still continuing.
