Two children wounded in mine explosion

Two children were wounded on Monday as a result of explosion of a mine laid by the Turkish military on borderline in Aðrý’s Doðubayazýt district.

According to reports received, the explosion occurred as two cousins from the village of Daðdelen, Erkan Demir (13) and Ömer Demir (17), were grazing their animals in the border region.

The minors were taken to Doðubayazýt State Hospital for treatment.

Governor of Aðrý Mehmet Tekinarslan confirmed the incident but claimed that the explosion occurred in a prohibited mined terrain.
