Two jailed, two others detained in Dersim and Urfa

More people are arrested by Turkish security forces during political genocide operations across the Kurdish region and all around Turkey on daily basis.

The AKP-MHP government continues its political genocide practices against the Kurdish people, their elected representatives as well as democratic, socialist and opposition circles in the country.

DERSİM

The political genocide operation against the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Dersim continued on Thursday. HDP Party Assembly (PM) member Ferhat Yıldız was taken into custody at a checkpoint at the entrance of the city today. He was taken to the police department.

On the other hand, two of the four people, who had been detained in the Mazgirt district on Tuesday, have been remanded in custody for allegedly “aiding a terrorist organisation”. The detainees, Zeki Can and Ali Nezip İnecik, have been sent to Elazığ Prison.

In the meantime, EMEP (Labor Party) Mazgirt district branch administrator Pakize Aydın and HDP Mazgirt district branch administrator Celal Aydın, who remain under custody at gendarmerie command, will reportedly give their statements tomorrow.

URFA

In Suruç district of Urfa, a man named Cengiz Sarıçiçek was taken into custody after having his house raided by the gendarmerie earlier today. Sarıçiçek was reportedly detained because of social media posts and taken to the police department. His two elder brothers who opposed the detention were battered by the gendarmerie.
