Two men detained to appear in Court

Two men who were taken into custody on 17 January in the investigation on the murder of Sakine Cansýz, Fidan Doðan and Leyla Þaylemez in Paris on 9 January, will be referred to court today following the 96 hours custody allowed for interrogation. All eyes are now on the evidences the French police will present to the court on the investigation.

No official statement has been made so far as to the recent developments on the investigation nor the identities of two men, who are said to be Kurds born in Turkey in 1974 and 1982, have been disclosed.

Among the alleged evidences French police has obtained from two suspects so far is the gunpowder mark seen on the coat of one of them and another suspect's DNA sample nearly matching the DNA found on a bullet casing. Reports say the evidence of DNA sample could provide a clue on the killings.

French police is expected to make a statement on the investigation today.

The Federation of Kurdish Associations in France ( FEYKA) released a written statement on Sunday and criticized French authorities for conducting the investigation in the shadow of their cooperation with Ankara.
