Two soldiers were shot dead by unknown assailants in the southeastern city of Yüksekova, in the province of Hakkari on Tuesday.

It is understood that Spec. Sgt. Yahya Karakaya (27) and Spec. Sgt. Murat Kozanoðlu (25) were killed in an armed attack, which took place on Nedim Zeydan Street in Yüksekova. Apparently they were hit as they left their homes for work. The two were initially injured and immediately hospitalized, but doctors were unable to save them. A large-scale operation was launched after the attack.
