The UK Kurdish People's Assembly has set up a number of Crisis Centers to deal with the coronavirus emergency.

The UK Kurdish People's Assembly has set up a number of Crisis Centers to meet the urgent needs of the society during the coronavirus emergency.

The first decision taken by the Assembly has been to cancel all actions, events, celebrations and panels in the country, starting with London, to avoid the spread of coronavirus during mass events.

The Crisis Center is organised through spokespersons and employees of many commissions such as health, culture, organization and press, and will be managed from the Kurdish Community Center in London.

In a statement the Assembly noted that the number of people diagnosed in Britain exceeded 1500 and pointed out to the problems faced by the British healthcare system NHS in dealing with the already diagnosed cases.

The Crisis Center contacted with local administrations and related institutions, and efforts were made to establish a joint work and a coordinated mechanism.

The statement stressed that the Kurdish people can overcome this epidemic crisis by strengthening solidarity. Those who think they show symptoms of the virus and have problems in reaching health centers, those who are self-isolating at home but cannot meet their needs, who those who have transportation problems because they are disabled or elderly, and those who have any problems can phone the numbers provided by the Crisis Centre.
