Simon Dubbins is director of International and Research of UNITE the UNION as well as co-convenor of the Freedom for Ocalan Campaign. Dubbins is also a patron and a supporter of Peace in Kurdistan Campaign. 

In an interview with journalist Erem Kansoy, Dubbins highlights the importance of the release of Kurdish people's leader Mr Abdullah Ocalan. Dubbins said that Ocalan can play a central role to achieve peace in the Middle East and also many conflicts around the world.

Dubbins sent a solidarity message to the imprisoned HDP members in Turkey and underlined the situation of political prisoners in Turkey.

The UK unionist also expressed his concerns about Turkish president Erdogan’s brutal war policies against Kurds in the North East Syria and in Iraq.
