Uneasiness within the CHP

Ince told Kılıçdaroğlu he want to be president of the party.

Republican People’s Party (CHP) presidential candidate for June 24 elections, Muharrem İnce told party's president Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to convene an extraordinary general congress in which he would step down and accept to be Group president and Honorary President, and let him be the general president of the party.
Apparently Kılıçdaroğlu did not like the proposal.

Ince said in a statement about Monday's meeting with the party President: "I went to see President Kılıçdaroğlu who had no proposals for me. So I told him I had a proposal."

Ince added: "I told him that he was a great statesman. I told him that I did not want to enter in a competition with him. I told him he could present me as President while he could become the Group President and the party's Honorary President."

CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu replied coldly to Muharrem İnce: "We had a private dinner. It is a political impoliteness to decontextualize it.”

Party spokesman Bulent Tezcan added that "there is no extraordinary general congress on our agenda".
