US bars Cuban Minister of Defense from entering the country

The United States confirmed it imposed sanctions on Cuba’s defense minister. 

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement that Cuban minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba (MINFAR), Leopoldo Cintra Frias is accused of human rights violations and supporting socialist Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Washington blacklisted Leopoldo Cintra Frias and his children, Deborah Cintra Gonzalez and Leopoldo Cintra Gonzalez. The designation bars them from entering the United States.
