Italian professor Federico Venturini was interviewed by Medya Haber. He told Erem Kansoy that "Abdullah Öcalan is a key figure not only for the Kurdish movement and the Kurdish question but for the whole Middle East."

Venturini is a Research Associate at the University of Udine (Italy). He said that "if we want a real solution, if we really want peace, we need to have him on the peace table."

For Venturini, "the fact that the Kurdish leader is still in Imrali means that Turkey doesn't want to go further on peace negotiations."
