A commemoration event was held at the Democratic Kurdish Community Center in Toronto, Canada for those who lost their lives during the Roboski and Maraş massacres.

Speakers at the event called on people to speak out against the massacres of the Kurdish people, assimilation and genocide.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak former MP Ferhat Encu spoke at the event via Skype and underlined the current situation and developments.

Witnesses of the Maraş Massacre told of what happened and a video about the massacre was screened.
