Vigil continues at Kobanê border

The resistance vigil, initiated at the border in the Suruç district of Urfa after ISIS gangs launched attacks on Kobanê nearly a month ago, continued during the night under the sound of artillery fire and clashes.

Thousands of people who have come to join the resistance vigil from different parts of Turkey and the region in order to support the resistance of Kobanê to ISIS gang attacks, are maintaining their vigil in the villages of Mahser and Miseynter.

After the attacks launched by the ISIS gangs on the eastern and western fronts of Kobanê were repulsed by the YPG fighters, the gang attacks were also broken on the southern front and this news created great joy among the thousands of people at the resistance vigil. The clashes continued until the early hours of the morning. As the result of air strikes by coalition aircraft, large explosions have occurred. Thick smoke rose from the sites hit for a long time.

Although the resistance vigil was being maintained at 6 different points on the border of Kobanê and Suruç, as clashes shifted towards the centre of Kobanê, the resistance vigil is now continuing in two villages, in Mahser and Miseynter, near the Mürşitpınar border gate.
