A village guard in Tatvan district of Bitlis opened fire on a vehicle with a Kalashnikov and then clashed with police officers who came to the scene afterwards. It is still not reported whether there are any causalities.
According to information received, Þahmiran (Çekmece) village’s guard Davut Bey in his late forties opened fire on a vehicle on Bitlis-Tatvan way at around 11.00 this morning.
Clashing with police officers coming to the scene afterwards, the village guard raided a service workshop and took seven people there as hostage, say eye witnesses.
The village guard is reported to have carried out the attack due to a matter of assets and liability.
