It has been claimed that soldiers tortured villagers and took photos of them during the military operation carried out in Yüksekova (Hakkari). A villager who wanted to remain anonymous said to DIHA News Agency: "They took photos of us all one by one and of our houses. They shot footages too. Many villagers were harrased. All you could hear was the cry of the children and the women."
The villagers of Yukarý Uluyol (Tlorana Binî) say that they were interrogated one by one for hours after the soldiers and police could find nothing during the detailed house search. They say the police and the soldiers offered them to become informants and to inform the authorities about those who come to the village.
“They told us, ‘No justice for you. We are your justice.’ We call upon the human rights advocates for showing necessary sensitivity,” has told a villager who was interrogated separately by the soldiers and the police.
