A number of volunteers from all continents are coming to Suruç not to leave the people of Kobanê alone in face of what they are being through due to the attacks of ISIS gang.
Activists coming from England, Sweden, South Korea, New Zealand, Zambia, Africa and America, who are working at the tent city set up in Suruç district of Urfa, call on all peoples and countries to help the people of Kobanê.
Chiseke Chiteta from Zambia, who came to Suruç together with some activist friends, and is providing help for setting up the tents, tells the followings as to why he is there; "We all are witnessing the humanitarian tragedy caused by inhumane gangs in Kobanê. It was not possible for us to turn a blind eye to it. The Kurds are one of the most downtrodden peoples in the world. Today, the ISIS which is known to the the whole world as a barbarian organisation is harming the Kurdish people and the other peoples living with them. Kurds from Sinjar to Kobanê are being displaced today. Whom did the people in Sinjar and Kobanê give harm to?"
Another volunteer Patriek Jensen from America also puts emphasis on the importance of solidarity with the people of Kobanê, adding; "They are really in a challenging situation. We call on the peoples in America and other countries to act in solidarity with Kobanê. We will not be leaving these people alone until they turn back home."
Mine Ule who is coming from South Korea pointed out that the people of Kobanê have prevented a probable massacre in the town by paying great prices and losses in face of the attacks carried out by those aiming to leave them in colonial status.
Ule underlines that; "The savage organisation called ISIS intends to commit a massacre today in front of the whole world's eyes. The displacement of the Kobanê people and their conviction to tents is a shame that should be felt by everyone. If a people in the Middle East is treated as a colonial community and is deprived of all fundamental rights, everyone should think deeply about it. Some powers couldn't tolerate the Kurdish people's establishment of their own system. As attacks on Kobanê have reached the highest level now, it is owing to the Kurdish fighters and youths fighting there that there has not taken place a second Sinjar case there."
