“Tomorrow is the last day to cast your vote, all the voters should go to the polls”, the HDP staff in Switzerland urged last minute voters to go and cast their vote in this important elections. 

Turkish and Kurdish voters living in Switzerland have been going to the polls enjoying the longer period allowed for voters abroad, who can vote for 5 days. 

In general, as previous elections suggest, voters in the cities of Zurich, Bern and Geneva are thought to favour HDP presidential candidate, Selahattin Demirtaş and the HDP. 

Voting in Switzerland started on 15 June: 94.32 voters are registered in this European country, according to YSK (Turkey High Elections Board).

So far, 31.672 people have voted in 3 polling centers habilitated.

People coming out of the polls have been willing to state their preference, and many said they actually voted for the HDP and its presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş. 

“We are here to have a say in the future of Turkey” said people. 
Huseyin Mamaklı, appointed by the HDP to supervise voting operation in Switzerland, reminded that at previous elections, the HDP was the most voted party in this European country. “I think this time won’t be different - said Mamaklı - adding that indeed, if anything the HDP will increase their vote”.

Recalling that the voting procedures in Switzerland will end on Tuesday, 19 June at 9pm, Mamaklı called on everyone to use this opportunity and go to the polls.
