Warisha Muradi stated that the attempt to eliminate Abdullah Öcalan and the Kurdish people had failed.
Warisha Muradi, a political prisoner sentenced to death in Iran, sent a letter marking the anniversary of the International Conspiracy (the day on which Öcalan was abducted in Kenya) carried out against him on February 15, 1999.
Warisha Muradi said in her letter: "On its 26th anniversary, I condemn the International Conspiracy against Leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan). This plot aimed to physically eliminate him and eradicate the Kurdish people entirely, but it had failed. Leader Apo is imprisoned in İmralı Prison because he stands for the freedom of all peoples.
In prison, he has created a life through daily resistance. He has transformed Imrali Prison, which was designed as a death cell, into a center of life and struggle. Leader Apo has become the leader of all oppressed peoples. His leadership, hope, and resistance continue to grow.''
Muradi added: ''We follow Leader Apo’s path and say ‘no’ to dark mentalities, centers of power, and the state system. As Zeinab Jalalian said, ‘If the isolation imposed on Leader Apo is lifted, all prisons will be emptied.' His freedom will symbolize a new life and liberation. We will continue our struggle to pave the way for a new process in the Middle East."
Warisha Muradi’s death sentence was finalized during court sessions on June 16 and July 4, 2024. Her lawyers continue to raise awareness about her case in the international public sphere.
