Welsh minister Morgan urged UK government to act

Kurdish activist Imam Sis has reached day 139 of his hunger strike demanding the end of isolation against Abdullah Öcalan.

Eluned Morgan AM (Labour), the Welsh Government Minister for International Relations & Welsh Language, has sent a letter to Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt urging him to contact the CPT regading the isolation of Öcalan, in light of the deteriorating condition of Imam Sis.

The initiative by Eluned Morgan came after the motion put through the Welsh Assembly.

There is also a cross-party letter, organised by Plaid Cymru, which should be out in the next days.

In addition on Thursday Plaid Cymru issued an urgent appeal to the UK Government to take action on the hunger strikes and contact the CPT.
