Welsh socialists sent solidarity postcards to the 30 prisoners who took part in the death fast resistance to end the isolation against Ocalan.

Welsh socialists sent solidarity postcards to the 30 prisoners who ended their death fast resistance launched to demand an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan. Welsh socialists and anarchists said they will continue to stand with the Kurdish people’s righteous cause.

The prisoners on death fasts were: Asli Dogan, Ardil Cesme, Zozan Cicek, Sukran Aydin, Nesrin Akgul, Ahmet Topkaya, Ferhat Turgay, Abdulhalik Kaplan, Enver Donmez, Ergin Akhan, Ihsan Bulut, Ozhan Ceyhan, Vedat Ozagar, Erol Cengiz, Ahmet Anigi, Yasar Cinbas, Muhammed Inal, Diyadin Akdemir, Engin Kahraman, Ibrahim Dogan, Ahmet Emin Eren, Mustafa Tastan, Senar Efe, Burhan Sik, Faysal Atak, Sefik Kayhan, Resat Ozdil, Zeki Bayhan, Yilmaz Yildiz and Sait Ozturk.

The hunger strike and death fast resistance that started under the lead of DTK Co-chair Leyla Guven on November 7, 2018 and continued with thousands of prisoners joining in were ended on May 26 after Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan issued a call via his lawyers.

Imam Sis had participated in the resistance and held the longest hunger strike in the history of the United Kingdom in Newport, Wales for 161 days, during which time he was supported by socialist, left-wing and anarchist circles extensively.
