Women form "peace chain" at Kobanê border

Thousands of members of women’s organisations across North Kurdistan and Turkey, taking action at the call of the Initiative of Women for Peace, are keeping vigil at Suruç border since yesterday in solidarity with the people fighting in Kobanê against the ISIS gangs.

Women for peace who will be at the border during the Eid have formed a "peace chain" at the zero point on the Suruç-Kobanê border, opening banners which read “Support to ISIS means war in Rojava” and chanting slogans “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi”[Women, Life, Freedom], “Biji berxwedana Kobanê” [Long live the Kobanê resistance] and “Women do not want war”.

HDP MP Sebahat Tuncel is also taking part in the peace chain which is being joined by more women coming to the border in solidarity with the growing resistance.
