A delegation of women from Southern Kurdistan visited DTK Co-chair Leyla Guven who has been on a hunger strike for 170 days.
As Guven’s hunger strike protesting the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan continues on day 170, a delegation of 11 women from Southern Kurdistan visited Guven.
HDP Amed MP Saliha Aydeniz, Batman MP Feleknas Uca and activists from the Free Women's Movement (TJA) also attended the visit.
The women from Southern Kurdistan gave Leyla Guven a placard with her picture on it.
The delegation issued a statement in front of Guven’s home after the visit. Banu Helepce spoke in the name of the delegation and said Guven is on a hunger strike for a righteous demand.
Helepce said: “Hunger strikes have been tradition since the Amed prison. Steps must be taken to end the isolation against Leader Apo and to let hunger strikers live.”
The delegation later visited the MPs on hunger strike in the HDP Amed offices.
