One out of three workers who were poisoned by methane gas during a sewage work in Pasinler district of Erzurum yesterday has died.

Necati Aras was among the workers who entered a sewage plant to remove a clogging in Kaplıcalar neighborhood in Pasinler yesterday noon. Three workers, including him, were were taken under treatment after being poisoned by methane gas in the plant.

Aras has lost his life while receiving treatment at the Atatürk University Research Hospital, while the other two workers, Emin Toy and Oğuzhan Taşçıoğlu, have been discharged from the Pasinler hospital following a short treatment.

The latest victim of “work accidents” caused by a lack of work safety, a fate shared by hundreds of workers in Turkey every month, has been laid to rest in Pasinler following a funeral.
