226 contract laborers working for 9th Regional Directorate of Highways in Diyarbakýr went on strike on Friday.

Workers who say they haven't been paid for the last two months made a statement to the press on Friday to call on authorities to back them.

The statement on behalf of workers on strike was made by Yol-Ýþ Union representative Ahmet Sav who pointed out that workers will not end their action until they receive their salaries. Sav said they have started this action to make themselves heard by relevant authorities.
