The International Workshop for World Peace was held in Venice, with the participation of the representatives of the oppressed peoples. Representatives of various people's freedom movements from different parts of the world attended the workshop.
On behalf of the Kurdish people, Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) member Adem Uzun, Democratic Union Party (PYD) Co-chair Asya Abdullah, Tevgera Azadî Co-chair Tara Hisên and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Spokesperson Ebru Günay attended the workshop.
Comunes party executive member Gabriel Angel and Colombian Peace Process Commissioner for Rights and Justice Carlos Beristain, Aimar Etxeberria Korta from the International Relations Department of EH Bildu (Basque country), Fatima Mahfud, Italy Representative of the Western-Saharan Polisario Front, as well as many Italian and Catalan civil society representatives attended the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, PYD Co-Minister Asya Abdullah gave extensive information about the establishment process of the PYD, their struggle before the Rojava Revolution, the current Rojava Revolution and the genocidal attacks of the Turkish state against Rojava.
KNK Member Adem Uzun, on the other hand, touched upon the Kurdish problem in the Middle East and the efforts made by international hegemonic powers to not solve this problem.
Representatives of other peoples participating in the workshop also touched upon the problems they faced during the peacebuilding process in their regions, emphasizing the importance of struggling together.
The workshop conclusions will be published in the next few days.
