Yazidi organizations in solidarity with Kurdish hunger strikes

Several Yazidi organizations have called for strong participation in the demonstration to be held in front of the CPT office in Strasbourg.

The Yazidi Communities Unity Center, Shengal Council in Diaspora, Yazidi Women’s Umbrella Council, the Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party, and several other Yazidi organizations have called for a demonstration in front of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) office in Strasbourg, France.

The statement by the Yazidi organizations is as follows:

“For more than three months, a hunger strike campaign has been going on under the leadership of Leyla Guven and Kurdish activists in Kurdistan and abroad in order to demand the removal of isolation imposed on the Kurdish people’s leader, Abdullah Ocalan. As Yazidi organizations, parties, and institutions, we express our solidarity with the hunger strike resistance.

On this basis, in order to free leader Apo and guarantee an honorable life, we call on the Yazidi community to participate in the demonstration due to take place in front of the CPT office in Strasbourg.

The demonstration will begin at 10:00 on February 21 in Avenue de l'Europe 1 67000 Strasbourg, France.”
