Hundreds of activists of the Movement of Patriot and Revolutionary Youth (YDG-H) took to the streets in Silopi late Sunday to demand freedom for Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, to protest against the excessive use of police force in Taksim and to salute the recently established Union of Patriot and Revolutionary Young Women (YDG-K).

Clashes spread to a larger area in a short time. A group of activists clashed with police after they attacked a police headquarters with blast bombs and fireworks. Clashes lasted till late night.
In a statement released on Sunday, YDG-H called on Kurdish youth to take an active part in the Gezi Park resistance which it described as the continuation and result of the struggle Mahir, Mazlum, Deniz, Kemal, Zilan and Beritan gave at the cost of their life.
YDG-H saluted Taksim protestors leading the resistance and called for the further enhancement of the fight for revolution.
Activists of the YDG-H and YDG-K have staged a march on Monday in the Hacıbekir neighborhood of Van in protest against colonialism. Activists demanded the liberation of Kurdish leader Öcalan and called on Kurdih youngsters not to go into the Turkish army and not to kill their own people.
