Young boy killed in clashes in Hatay - FLASH
A young boy, reportedly Abdullah Cömert, aged 22, has been killed during violent police attack against the protestors in the district of Armutlu, in the southern Hatay province, the late Monday.
According to reports, the boy was hit on the head with gas canister during the police attack which was quite severer than the violence protestors in the district were subjected to yesterday.
The death of the young boy has been confirmed by the state hospital in Armutlu and police directorate. The boy was reportedly a member of CHP (Republican People's Party) youth organization.
Refik Eryılmaz, CHP Hatay deputy, said in his interview on Turkish channel Ulusal that he had called the security director a few hours before the incident and warned him about the increasing force police was using against protestors, asking the director to pull police units back.
According to eyewitnesses, police is acting unlawfully in Armutlu by forcibly entering into houses and beating people.
