Young Kurds take to the streets in Bern and Luzern against isolation imposed on Öcalan

Concerned about the health and safety of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, after the statement made by Asrın Law Office, young people took action in Bern and Luzern.

Demonstrations against the isolation and systematic torture policy implemented against Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan were held in Bern and Lucerne organized by Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer (TekoJIN).

CDK co-chair Ercan Güneş made a speech and said: “Our concerns for the health, life and safety of our Leader are increasing. We regard Leader Apo's life as our reason for living, we want his freedom. We will continue to take to the streets until the freedom of our Leader is ensured.”

CDK's other co-chair, Sabiha Yılmaz, said that they had not heard from Abdullah Öcalan for 20 months and added: “After the statement of our Leader's lawyers, we, as  Kurdish people, are concerned about his life. From here, we call on the international institutions, especially the CPT, to fulfill their responsibilities as soon as possible.”
