Young people in Berlin demand freedom for Öcalan

Young people reproduced the life of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan in an 11 square meter room for 24 years, and demanded his freedom by saying, "The future of the youth cannot be locked behind the doors of Imrali."

In Alexanderplatz, one of the busiest places in Berlin, young people staged a demonstration to draw attention to and protest the isolation imposed upon Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan. They reproduced the isolation conditions in which Öcalan is kept.

The action was attended by TekoJIN, TCŞ and international young people who demanded freedom for the Kurdish people’s leader.

The young activists protested the CPT, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture, that visited Imrali, but not Öcalan.

The young people said: “The future of young people cannot be locked behind the doors of Imrali. The problems of the world will only be solved by Öcalan.”
