Young people take over Freedom for Öcalan Vigil

Young people who took over the Freedom for Öcalan Vigil issued a call to invite activists to join the Freedom March with the spirit of Serhildan.

The Freedom for Öcalan Öcalan Vigil in front of the European Council in Strasbourg, has entered its 428th week. Kurdish youth have taken over the vigil this week.

Hundreds of thousands of people from different countries were informed by activists during the many weeks of the vigil, which is held in a place where the European Council, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), the European Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights are located.

Call to join the Freedom Long March

The Kurdish youth at the vigil called for participation in the youth march that will start in Hannover on 5 September with the slogan "For Leader Apo's Freedom, Rebellion Together".

'Bi Hev Re Serhildan’

The youth said in its statement: “For 428 weeks we have been holding a vigil demanding freedom for Leader Apo [Öcalan]. We, as a young people, took over the vigil this week. As youth, we have only one call: We invite the Kurdish youth living in Europe and in four parts of Kurdistan to close around the Leader and claim its leadership. Let’s join the Long March for freedom with the slogan Bi Hev Re Serhildan. We started young, we will finish young.”
