Youth wounded by Turkish soldiers dies in hospital

Abdullah Akkulu (18), who was shot by Turkish soldiers and seriously wounded on 8 June in a protest against the building of military posts in the village of Biryas in Lice district, has died. He was in intensive care for 3 months in the medical faculty of Dicle university.

He was shot with live ammunition and was paralysed from his waist down. After 3  months in intensive care, his body was taken to the morgue of the medical faculty. Ramazan Baran and Baki Akdemir also lost their lives in the same attack by Turkish soldiers.

The body of Abdullah Akkulu was received by his family and taken to Lice to be buried.

The body was firstly taken to the cemetery house of Lice in the early hours of the morning. After funeral prayers, the body was covered with yellow, red and green streamers prior to burial.
