YPG: 13 gang members killed in Kobanê

Attacks of ISIS gangs aiming to occupy the Kobanê town of Rojava, West Kurdistan, continued on the 85th day, reported YPG (People's Defense Units) Press Centre in a statement released on Tuesday.

According to the statement, YPG/YPJ fighters launched offensives targeting some positions formerly occupied by the ISIS on the eastern front last night. Six members of the gangs were killed and arms belonging to them were seized in the offensives in Kaniya Kurda and Sukul Hal areas.

Two members of the gangs were killed in another YPG/YPJ offensive that targeted the gang groups deployed around the Azadi (Freedom) Square on the southeastern front of Kobanê last night.

On the southern front, YPG/YPJ fighters did effectively hit the gang groups who attempted to infiltrate the strategic hospital area late yesterday. Five members of the gangs were killed and ammunition belonging to them was seized as result of the YPG/YPJ action.

One other offensive by Defense Units targeted the gang groups based around the village of Selîm 10 km west of Kobanê. A vehicle of the gangs was destroyed while the number of casualties on their side couldn't be made clear.

The statement added that 1 YPG/YPJ fighter has fallen fighting on the eastern front yesterday.
