19 members of ISIS gangs were killed and one other was captured alive in clashes in Kobanê and Til Temir.
Recalling that the Kobanê resistance against the occupation attempt of ISIS gangs continued on the 215th day, YPG Press Centre said YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) launched an operation in the ISIS-held area south of Kobanê yesterday.
The village of Ernê was completely cleansed of ISIS gangs and liberated in the operation, while 2 gang members were killed in clashes in and around the village. A gang member by the name of Mustafa Muhammed Fetih El Ubeyd, born in Raqqa in 1992, was captured alive in the village.
YPG stated that gang groups carried out an attack targeting the Göktepe village southeast of Kobanê last night. Heavy clashes broke out in the village as Defense Units thwarted an attempted suicide attack of the gangs. 11 members of the gang groups were killed in clashes after which YPG/YPJ repelled the gangs from the village, also seizing the bodies of 10 gang members and a large quantity of ammunition belonging to them.
A fighter of the Defense Units was killed fighting in the operation.
Two other members of the gangs were killed in an attack in which Defense Units targeted a vehicle of theirs near the village of Xanê, again southeast of Kobanê.
The statement said that gang groups attempted an attack near the village of Xizela 23 km south of Til Hemis last night, to which YPG/YPJ responded with a counter attack. The gang groups were forced to flee the area following intense clashes at two separate locations, while at least 4 members of theirs were killed.
