YPG Press Centre said that the Kobanê resistance against the occupation attempt of ISIS gangs continued on the 217th day.

YPG Press Centre said in a written statement that the Kobanê resistance against the occupation attempt of ISIS gangs continued on the 217th day.

The statement said that the operation launched by YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) south of Kobanê the day before was going on.

The villages of Eîgan, Cabêriyê and Metres were cleansed of ISIS gangs and liberated yesterday as part of the operation. A number of gang members were killed in heavy clashes in three villages, yet the exact number of casualties on ISIS side couldn't be verified.

Corpses of 8 ISIS militants, 3 military vehicles and a large quantity of ammunition belonging to the gangs were seized in the operation, YPG said.

YPG Press Centre noted that clashes on the western boundaries of the Cizîrê Canton also continued.

According to the statement, gang groups launched a series of attacks in some villages in Til Temir last night. Fierce clashes broke out as Defense Units strongly responded to the gangs that attempted to advance in the village of Til Nasri, forcing the groups to flee the region in the wake of the fighting during which 2 members of the gangs were killed.

Three other gang members were killed in a short-lasting clash near the village of Xêbiş where Defense Units targeted a gang group in action last night.
