The YPG Press Office has announced in a statement that 58 gang members have been killed in clashes in Cizîrê Canton since 8 April, while 17 others were killed in clashes with the ISIS gangs last night and today in Kobanê canton.
The YPG Press Office reported that ISIS gangs launched two different attacks on Goktepe village to the south east of Kobanê last night and this morning, adding that fierce clashes took place between the YPG/YPJ forces and the ISIS gangs following the strong response of the resistance forces. YPG said 11 gang members were killed in the clashes there as far as ascertained and that the corpses of 5 gang members were seized by YPG forces.
YPG said the ISIS gangs launched another attack on Sepeta Ereba village to the south of Kobanê last night, adding that the attacks was repulsed and 6 gang members were killed.
YPG also reported that 1 YPG fighter lost his life in the clashes.
Regarding the clashes in Cizire Canton, the YPG Press Office said one of the most extensive attacks of the ISIS gangs within the scope of the attacks launched on 23 February along the line of Hasekê-Til Temir-Serêkaniyê to the west of Cizire, was also repulsed. YPG said a 4-day attack of the ISIS gangs on Xerita bridge and the villages around was broken by the YPG forces supported by the airstrikes of the coalition forces. YPG said the ISIS gangs suffered heavy blows in the last clashes.
YPG reported that 58 gang members were killed in the clashes that started on 8 April and that took place on a 10 km front, adding that 36 corpses of ISIS gang members as well as large amounts of ammunition were seized by the YPG/YPJ forces.
YPG said it has once again been proved that the ISIS gangs are no match for YPG/YPJ forces.
YPG lastly reported that 11 YPG/YPJ fighters lost their lives in the clashes of the last 4 days after bravely fighting against the gangs.
