YPG: At least 28 gang members killed

YPG (People's Protection Units) Press Office reported in a written statement that at least 28 gang members were killed in clashes that lasted along the day and night in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, yesterday.

The statement pointed out that the assault force of the ISIS gangs has been broken as result of the resistance being put up by YPG/YPJ, peshmerga and FSA-affiliate Burkan Al Fırat forces. YPG also remarked that gangs were now attempting to step up their attacks with reinforcements.

YPG Press Centre said 16 gang members were ascertained killed in clashes on the eastern front, including 5 who were killed in the fighting in Kaniya Kurda, Municipality Street and Azadi Square areas, 11 who were killed in a series of actions targeting the gangs between the villages of Baxdik and Karamox, 20 km to the east of Kobanê, where two vehicles and a motorbike belonging to the gangs were destroyed.

Regarding the fighting going on at the southern and western fronts, YPG stated that 4 gang members were killed in clashes and 2 others in an action which targeted a vehicle of the gangs on Aleppo road.

6 other members of the gangs were killed in the fighting on the western front that continued till early Wednesday morning.
