YPG: Clashes continue at three fronts in Kobanê

YPG (People's Protection Units) Press Centre has released a statement providing information about the ongoing fighting in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava.

YPG Press Centre said attacks ISIS gangs launched to occupy Kobanê continued on the 49th day as YPG and YPJ forces are continuing to repulse the attacks.

The statement remarked that gangs were being inflicted heavy blows in counter-attacks carried out by YPG/YPJ, peshmerga and FSA-affiliate Burkan Al Fırat forces.

YPG Press Centre said that fighting intensified in Kaniya Kurda and Municipality Street areas of Kobanê from noon to midnight yesterday, and that gangs were repelled from the region following hand-to-hand fighting. 15 members of the gangs, including 3 emirs (leaders), were killed in clashes in both areas.

At the southern front -the statement said- clashes that erupted last night continued uninterruptedly till early morning. "Gangs were repelled following violent clashes during which as much as ascertained 5 gang members were killed. 5 other members of the gangs were killed after a vehicle belonging to them was destroyed with militants inside", it added.

YPG said 3 other gang members were killed in another action of their forces that targeted a heavy weapon-laden vehicle of the gangs on Aleppo road.

According to the statement, YPG fighters have launched a coordinated attack together with peshmerga and Burkan Al Fırat forces at the western front. Attacks on the Arbûs hamlet between Tal Sheîr and Mineza village is continuing.

YPG Press Center added that 4 fighters of the YPG have fallen resisting in the last one day of clashes, and that 2 fighters of Burkan Al Fırat have lost their lives during the offensive launched against gangs.
