In a written statement, People's Defense Units (YPG) Press Office said that five soldiers of the Syrian army were killed and several others were injured in clashes with the military of the Baath regime.

YPG remarked that a fighter of YPG, Rustem code-named Eli Şexo, lost his life in severe clashes that broke out in the Kurdish neighborhood of Sheikh Maksud in Aleppo on Monday.

YPG, underlining that its forces will be protecting the Kurdish and Arabic peoples in Sheikh Maksud, added that "We will not remain the Baath regime's attacks against civilians unanswered".
