Releasing a statement about the attacks and clashes going on in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, for 43rd day, YPG [People's Protection Units] Press Centre said ISIS gangs are now launching missile and mortar attacks on the town centre after failing to advance further in face of the resistance by YPG/YPJ fighters and FSA-affiliate Burkan Al Fırat forces.
YPG Press Centre reported that fierce and uninterrupted clashes are taking place between YPG/YPJ forces and ISIS gangs at the eastern front where fighting has intensified in the Kaniya Kurda neighborhood, municipality area and the Azadi [Freedom] Square.
At least 18 members of the gangs were killed in the Kaniya Kurda region, and 9 at the Azadi Square as gangs were inflicted a heavy blow in the fighting at this front.
YPG noted that their forces have foiled a car-bomb attack of ISIS gangs in the municipality area early Tuesday morning. YPG forces also seized large quantities of ammunition belonging to the gangs as clashes in the area are continuing.
According to the YPG statement, clashes are also continuing since yesterday noon at the southern front where 7 gang members were ascertained killed and a heavy weapon-laden vehicle belonging to them was destroyed.
The statement reported that 4 YPG fighters have fallen fighting in the last 24 hours of violent clashes.
On the other hand, 4 gang members were killed and one other wounded in an action by YPG forces that targeted gang groups near the village of Zinka to the west of Serêkaniyê and the borderline yesterday morning.
