YPG: Gangs attempting attacks with reinforcements

As the Kobanê resistance continues on the 38th day, ISIS gangs are suffering heavy blows in the fighting with YPG/YPJ fighters and Burkan Al Fırat forces, and attempting further attacks after reinforcing fighting units and weapons with an aim to strengthen their forces in face of the determined resistance they have been facing for over a month now.

Releasing Tuesday a statement about the ongoing fighting, YPG Press Centre said intense and fierce clashes took place between YPG forces and ISIS gangs in the areas of Kaniya Kurda, Municipality Street and Azadi Square on the eastern and southeastern fronts yesterday afternoon.

In Kaniya Kurda region, gangs attempted an attack with a bomb-laden vehicle which was defused by YPG fighters it was spotted by. 1 gang member inside the vehicle was killed, the YPG statement said, adding that clashes in this area are going on.

YPG Press Centre said one other attempt of attack by the gangs on the southern front was also prevented by YPG fighter that detonated and destroyed a bomb-laden vehicle set by the gangs.

Fierce clashes that broke out in and around the Til Shaîr village on the western front last night are also continuing, said the YPG statement according to which 17 gang members were ascertained killed in the fighting here.

The statement further reported that YPG forces carried out an attack on the gangs between the villages of Arbus and Mezrê on the western front this morning. One vehicle of the ISIS gangs was destroyed with 4 militants inside it.

YPG Press Centre added that 5 YPG fighters and 2 Burkan Al Fırat fighters have lost their lives in the last one day of clashes as they put up a determined resistance and will in the fight against the ISIS gangs.
