YPG: Intensified attacks targeting Kobanê centre

YPG (People's Protection Units) Press Centre has released a statement providing information about the present situation and the ongoing fighting in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan on the 25th day.

YPG said attacks have intensified in the last two days when -it said- at least 37 gang members were killed and 5 YPG fighters lost their lives.

The YPG statement reported that the ISIS gangs are now carrying out bombardments on the Kobanê centre, using the cannon and missile launchers they have recently deployed around the town, after facing a failure in their attempts to enter the town centre.

According to the statement, gangs have launched four attacks in the Kaniya Kurda region on the eastern front, and all these attacks were repulsed by YPG fighters yesterday, killing 16 members of the inhumane ISIS gangs.

The statement said fighting on the southern front intensified in the Termik region where gangs reinforced their units after suffering a heavy defeat as all their attacks were repelled and 13 gang members were killed by YPG forces.

Regarding the ongoing clashes in the Miştenur hill region, YPG said their forces had carried out a counter attack following the ISIS attacks that continued till late yesterday evening. While the figures of casualties gangs suffered here couldn't be ascertained, 8 members of theirs were killed in an attack by YPG forces.

The statement also reported that the gang groups on the western front were forced to flee their position following an attack by YPG forces late last night.

YPG added that 5 fighters of their forces have fallen fighting in the last 24 hours.
