People's Defense Units (YPG) have launched "Qamishlo and Kobani Martyrs Revolutionary Operation" in the southern villages of Tirbespiyê city on Tuesday evening.

According to the reports obtained from YPG sources, severe clashes broke out between YPG and al-Qaeda affiliated ISIL (Islamic state of Iraq and the Levant) and the al-Nusra Front near the Mihemed Diyab village after the operation began.

Gang groups have reportedly suffered heavy losses in clashes which lasted till Wednesday morning. YPG fighters have also seized a large number of munitions of the groups.

YPG fighters have liberated 16 villages in the operation, including Mihemed Diyab, a strategically significant headquarters of the gang groups, and the villages of Mirr, Sofiya, Taya, Mezluma, Ribêda, Mihemediyê, Riheya Biçûk, Xirbê Sim, Xirbê Cihaş, Huriyat, Aşağı Huriyat, Yukarı Huriyat, Um Kirênat, Nebbua, Zahiriyê.
