YPG rescues another village in Qamişlo

People's Defense Units (YPG) fighters have taken the control of the village of Uweniyê, one of the bases that has been controlled by al-Qaeda linked gang groups attacking the western Kurdistan city with the support of international powers and the Turkish government.

The village was rescued from the jihadist groups in the operation YPG fighters launched after the gang groups attacked the Til İd village, in the southern part of Qamişlo, on Tuesday morning. Clashes broke out in the village as YPG fighters strongly responded to the attack and repulsed the gang groups from the area. The groups carried out another attack against the area in the afternoon.

In response to the attacks, YPG launched an operation to clear the villages of Bacariyê, Uwêniyê and Rihêba Zahir of the armed groups.

YPG took the control of Uwêniyê village in the evening as clashes, in which gang groups suffered heavy losses, continued.
