People's Defense Units (YPG) fighters have liberated the Til Birek district of the Qamishlo city from al-Qaeda affiliated gang groups.

According to the reports obtained from YPG sources, YPG fighters launched an offensive against jihadist groups deployed in an area between Hesekê and Qamishlo early Friday morning.

YPG fighters have taken control of the Til Birek district in the operation which is reported to be continuing in the south of the Qamishlo city. Detailed info about the operation is expected to be released today.
