YPG volunteer from Portugal dies in Til Temir

YPG (People's Defense Units) has announced the deaths of Portuguese fighter Mario Nunes and Gelhat Qerecdax from Riha (Urfa).

YPG Press Office reported that Mario Nunes (Kendal Qehreman) from Portugal and Gelhat Qerecdax (Enwer Înan) from Riha province of North Kurdistan have lost their lives.

The statement quoted the YPG volunteer Mario Nunes as saying that; “I am here to fight with the people of Rojava on behalf of the Portuguese people. This is a cause worth fighting for. A new movement is arising here. This is true democracy. This is a revolution that everyone should support and praise.”

YPG noted that Nunes joined the YPG ranks in early 2015 and participated in some operations against gangs in Cizîr Canton. Nunes lost his life as a result of a traffic accident on May 3, 2016.

YPG also announced the death of Enwer Înan (Gelhat Qerecdax) in Hesekê on April 10, 2016.

YPG commemorated all their martyrs in the person of 2 YPG fighters, and offered their condolences to their families, and the people of Rojava and Portugal.
