YPG/YPJ advances, ISIS attacks civilians

The ISIS gangs continue to attack civilians as the YPG/YPJ forces are advancing more and more each day in Kobanê, where the clashes continue in the 58th day.

ISIS gangs have once again fired mortars today on Til Shair, a civilian populated area at the borderline where previously 3 people lost their lives and 10 other were wounded in the mortar attacks of ISIS.

ISIS gangs who also targeted the Til Shair area yesterday have in early today morning today launched another mortar attack on the area, which luckily caused no casualties as the cannons fell on the empty fields nearby.

A number of civilians were killed or wounded as ISIS gangs launched mortar attacks in the town centre and the Til Shair area yesterday.

In yesterday’s attack on the town centre in the afternoon, 8 year-old Azize Kino lost her life, while 6 people were left wounded. Two hours later, the gangs continued their mortar attacks on Til Shair area, killing 17 year-old Rezan, 60 year-old Ubeyt Mihemed and 8 year-old İwa Ebdo and wounding 10 others.

The bodies of Kino and Ebdo are kept at the Suruç Public Hospital but are expected to be taken to Kobanê to be buried there today on the demand of the families. The wounded in serious condition have been sent to Urfa Provincial Hospital, while the others remain under treatment in Suruç Public Hospital.

In the meantime, the YPG and YPJ fighters are inflicting heavy blows on the gangs in the eastern and southern fronts. According to the reports coming through, YPG/YPJ forces have retaken some positions occupied by the gangs in the clashes continuing since yesterday’s night. The fighting is reported to be led by sniper attacks on the eastern and southern fronts. YPG is expected to issue a statement on the details of the clashes of last 24 hours.
